About

Palmetto Bass and Staff

Palmetto Bass is a centralized website for bass fishing information, tournament schedules and results in South Carolina. Tournament directors and club officials are encouraged to email palmettobassfishingblog@gmail.com to announce your event or results free of charge.

At PalmettoBass.com we’re tournament anglers as well. Our goal is to help grow the sport in a responsible manner, and get more anglers involved in tournament fishing.

In 2013 he was recognized by the Department of Defense as both the top photographer and print journalist in the military. Since that time Russ has sought out opportunities to combine his love of storytelling and the outdoors. He is also a freelance contributor to several newspapers, magazines and marketing departments.

Mark Hodge is the senior correspondent for the Palmetto Bass blog. Mark is a lifelong resident of Summerville, South Carolina, and a two-time winner of the Summerville Bassmasters’ Angler of the Year award. Mark grew up learning the secrets of South Carolina’s best bass lakes.

While winning is a bonus when fishing, it isn’t everything to Mark. He feels there is much to be said about the satisfaction that comes from helping a fellow angler. Witnessing that person catch fish, and the elation they show and feel is the incentive he seeks.
