Will Smith and Bill Holmes closed the door on 2017 by besting 27 other teams and taking the win at the Cooper River Bassmasters Winter Open #3 on December 30. The pair brought an impressive 20.80 pounds to the scales to earn the victory.
The team caught their fish throwing Murphy’s Custom Crankbaits and jigs.
Finishing in second was the team of Mark Hodge Jr. and Russ Scalf. The team landed 17.41 on Bandit crankbaits, and Mark caught the 7.92 pound big bass of the tournament on a Senko. You can find the crankbaits at www.palmettooutdoorsman.com.
The next event in the series is 9 a.m., January 13, at Cypress Gardens. The entry fee is $50.
